Mahalaxmi Municipality

Mahalaxmi Municipality is located in the northeast part of Lalitpur district, Bagmati, Nepal. This municipality was established in 2071 Mangsir 16 by incorporating the former Imadol, Tikathali, Siddhipur, Lubhu & Lamatar Village Development Committees. This municipality is the home of ancient heritage & culture. Lubhu, Siddhipur, Sanagaun etc are the old & small cities with typical Newari culture. The majority of the part of this municipality is covered by densy settlements. 

There are 10 ward offices in Mahalaxmi. This municipality is named after the famous Mahalaxmi Temple located in Lubhu.  The total area of this municipality is 26.5 square kilometres. The eastern borders of Mahalaxmi are connected with Manedhovan of Kavrepalanchowk. Similarly, the western border is connected with Godawari Municipality. And, the southern border is connected with Lalitpur Metropoliton City. The northern border is connected with Madhyapur Thimi & Suryabinayak Municipality
