Lalitpur Metropolitan City

Lalitpur Metropolitan City, also called Patan, is one of Nepal's largest and most culturally important cities. Situated just south of Kathmandu, across the Bagmati River, it is a lively city full of history, culture, and traditional Newar architecture.

Lalitpur became a Metropolitan City in 2015 to improve local governance in Nepal. It is divided into 29 wards, each with its own office handling local development and services. The main office in Pulchowk manages the city's growth, infrastructure, and heritage conservation.

Lalitpur is famous for its rich artistic heritage, especially in metalwork, stone carving, and woodcraft. It is also called " YALA" city. Similarly, This city is also known as the City of Fine Arts. It extends from 27.62˚ to 27.69˚ North Latitude and 85.29˚ to 85.36˚ East Longitude. 

The eastern border of Lalitpur is connected with Mahalaxmi Municipality. The western border is connected with Kirtipur Municipality & Kathmandu Metro. Similarly, the northern and southern borders are connected with Kathmandu Metro & Godawari Municipality respectively.
