Godawari Municipality

Godawari Municipality is located in the southern part of Lalitpur District, Nepal. It was established in 2073 BS by merging Bishankhu Narayan, Thaiba, Godham Chaur, Lele, Chapagaun, Chhampi, Dukuchhap, Jharuwarasi, Thecho & Devichaur villages. The area is famous for its natural beauty, greenery, and peaceful environment. Godawari is well known for its botanical garden, which is one of the largest in Nepal. The garden has a variety of plants and flowers, making it a popular destination for nature lovers.

Godawari covers an area of around 96.2 square kilometres. According to the 2021 census, the municipality's population is approximately 97,633. The locals are mainly involved in farming, tourism, and small businesses. The municipality also has several schools, health centres, and local markets.

The climate in Godawari is mild and pleasant, making it a great place for hiking and picnics. One of the famous spots in the area is the Godawari Kunda, a holy spring that attracts pilgrims and tourists alike. Bajrabarahi, Lele Manakamana etc are the religious places here. 

The Eastern border is connected with Mahalaxmi Municipality & Kavre. Kathmandu & Makawanpur are in the west of this municipality. The northern border is connected with Lalitpur Metropolitan. The southern border is connected with Bagmati & Konjyosom Gaupalika.
