Sunkhani was the Village Development Committee of Sindhupalchowk. During the implementation of federalism, Sunkani VDC was included in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality as ward no. 5.
The eastern border of Sunkhani is connected with Thumpakhar. And, The western boundary is associated with Thokarpa and Kalika. Similarly, the northern and southern borders are connected with Yamuna Danda and Lisankhupakhar.
