Mahankal Rural Municipality

Mahankal is the local government in Lalitpur district, Nepal. It is the rural municipality among the three rural municipalities, two municipalities & one metropolitan in Lalitpur. This rural municipality was established in 2073 BS including the former Bukhel, Manikhel, Gotikhel, Kaleshwor, Chandanpur & Thuladurlung. There are 6 ward offices. It spends over 82.44 square kilometres. 

The eastern border of Mahankal Rural Municipality is connected to the Kavre district. Similarly, the western border is connected to Bagmati Rural Municipality and Konjyosom Gaupalika. The northern border is connected with Knjyosom Gaupalika & southern border is connected with Bagmati Gaupalika & Makawanpur. 

The maximum temperature of Mahankal is 26.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 2.3 degrees Celsius. A total of 30 educational institutions including 9 primary schools, 14 primary schools and 7 secondary schools are operating in this rural municipality.
