Changu Narayan Municipality is one of the municipalities among 4 municipalities in Bhaktapur, Bagmati, Nepal. This Municipality is named after famous religious world heritage site Changu Narayan Temple. During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this municipality was established by adjusting the former Changu Narayan Municipality & Nagarkot Municipality.
Prior to that, Changunarayan municipality was formed by including village development committee of Changunarayan, Jhoukhel, Chalid, Duwakot. Similarly, the Mahamanjushree Nagarkot municipality was declared by including the former Nagarkot Bageshwari, Sudal and Tathali Village Development Committees. There are 9 ward offices in Changu Narayan Nagarpalika. The central office of this municipality is in Kharipati, Bhaktapur.
Changu Narayan Municipality extends from 1372 meters to 2191 meters above sea level. The total area of Changu Narayan Nagarpalika is 62.98 square kilometer. There are 9 ward offices in this municipality. According to the legend, Changu Narayan is the oldesttemple of Nepal. Changu Narayan is the worlf heritage sites of Nepal.
Mandan Deupur municipality is in the eastern part of Changu Narayan municipality. Similarly, Manohara municipality & Madhyapur Thimi Nagarpalika are in the western part of this municipality. Additionally, The northern border is connected with Shankharapur Municipality and the southern border is connected with Suryabinak & Bhaktapur municipality.
