Selang is located in Ward No. 1 of Sindhupalchok, Jugal Rural Municipality. The current Ward No. 1 was created by combining the wards of the former Selang Village Development Committee.
To the east of this ward are Sunkoshi rural municipality and Baramchi. Similarly, the western border of Selang is connected with Indrawati and Panchpokhari Rural Municipality. Its northern and southern borders are connected with Golche and Chautara Sangachok gadhi respectively.
