Mude Bazar is one of the best tourist places in Sindhupalchowk. It is located in Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk.  While this hidden gem may not be as well-known as some of Nepal's more famous tourist destinations, it offers a unique and authentic experience that is worth exploring.  Its heritage is deeply intertwined with the traditions of the indigenous Tamang community, who have inhabited this region for generations. Visitors can explore ancient temples, monasteries, and traditional Tamang architecture, providing a glimpse into the town's cultural heritage. One of the most captivating aspects of Mude Bazar is its breathtaking natural beauty. Surrounded by lush green hills and terraced fields, this town offers an ideal setting for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.  

Mude Bazaar is a major commercial centre connecting the Sindhupalchok and Dolakha districts. There are enough hotels and lodges here. It is about 2500 meters above sea level. Therefore, the weather here is usually cold. In the winter months, heavy snow falls here. A view tower has been constructed here to promote tourism. Churpi and local potatoes are the main attractions of Mudea. There is also a potato research and development centre at Nigale.

Mude is a transit point if you are going to Jiri, Kalinchok, and Kuri village of Dolakha. The beautiful villages and settlements here, the pleasant atmosphere, art, culture, etc. have made Mude known as a tourist destination. Mudé can be a major destination for those who want to play in the snow as a short destination during winter. 

Mude Bazaar is famous for its natural beauty, local potato, local Churpi, local flavour food, art and original culture.

Best Time to Visit 

The best time to visit Mude Bazar in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, is during the spring and autumn months. Specifically, the ideal time falls between March to May and September to November. If you want to enjoy snow then you can visit Mude in winter. As it is at some height above sea level, the environment here remains cold.

Spring (March to May):  During spring, the weather is pleasantly mild with daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). This makes it comfortable for outdoor activities and trekking. The hills surrounding Mude Bazar come alive with colourful rhododendron blooms, adding a vibrant touch to the landscape. Spring offers clearer skies and excellent visibility, making it ideal for enjoying the panoramic views of the Himalayan mountains during treks.

Autumn (September to November): The autumn months are characterized by cool and dry weather, making it a pleasant time to explore Mude Bazar and its surroundings. This period coincides with major Nepali festivals like Dashain and Tihar, allowing you to witness and participate in vibrant cultural celebrations. Autumn provides the best trekking conditions with stable weather, making it perfect for embarking on to visit & experiencing a lifetime memory. 

How to Reach?

Mude is about 100 km from Kathmandu. Khadichour can be reached through the Araniko Highway. From Khadichour, one can reach Mude via Lamosanghu-Jiri road. There are public buses to go here. And, you can also go on private buses & bike rides.
