The Government of Nepal has published a notification in the gazette to give a total of 35 days of public holidays for 2081 BS (2024/25 AD).
As we know, Nepal is rich in culture, and ethnicity. Likewise, every community has its original calendars. Generally, people celebrate different festivals in Nepalese society. Therefore, the Government of Nepal gives public holidays to celebrate festivals & historical events.
The Government of Nepal publishes the list of public holidays for the upcoming year in the Gazette. Nepal is one of the countries with the most public holidays in the world. Nepal celebrates Many religious and other public holidays. Generally, Most government and non-government offices remain closed on that day. However, Some private institutions remain open. On the other hand, the province also gives public holidays at special times in their province. Similarly, the local government also has the right to grant public holidays on special days.
List of Public Holidays in Nepal for 2081 BS (2024/25)
In 2081, the government of Nepal declared 35 days to be public holidays that would apply nationwide. Indeed, A notice that was issued in the gazette states that 35 days of leave have been granted for birthdays, historical events, and other celebrations. Namely, Dashain's six-day and Tihar's five-day holidays are the longest national holiday in Nepal.

Public holidays have been celebrated across the Kathmandu Valley on the occasion of Gaijatra, Ghodejatra, Machhendranath, Voto Jatra, and Indrajatra. Similarly, Public holidays have been granted for only women during the Teej & Jitiya Festival.
In addition, Educational institutions remain closed during Basanta Panchami. The government declared holidays for respective communities on Guru Nanak Jayanti, Falgunanda Jayanti, and Mohammad Jayanti.
