Khankhola is one of the rural municipalities among the 13 local levels in the Kavre district. During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this rural municipality was established by adjusting the former Falametar, Danda Gaun, Salmechakal (Taldhnga), Saldhara, & Milche village development committees.
There are seven ward offices in this rural municipality. The total area of this rural is 132 square kilometres. There are 12201 total population according to National Census - 2078. The eastern border is connected with Mahabharat Gaupalika. And, the western border is connected with Mahakal Gaupalika (Lalitpur). The Northern borders are associated with Mahabharat & Roshi. The southern border is connected with Bagmati Gaupalika.
