Nagarjun Municipality

Nagarjun Municipality is the local government in Kathmandu, Nepal. This Municipality was established in 2071 by joining the former Ichangu Narayan, Sitapaila, Ramkot, Bhimdhunga & Syuchhatar village development committees. There are 10 ward offices in Nagarjun Municipality. The total of Nagarjun Municipality is 29.8 square kilometres. 

The eastern part of Nagarjun is connected with Kathmandu Metropolitan. Similarly, the western border is associated with the Dhading district. Tarkeshwor Municipality is in the northern part of Nagarjun. Additionally, the southern border is associated with Chandragiri Municipality.   

Nagarjuna municipality is geographically spread between 85° 12" to 85° 17" east longitude and 27° 40" to 27° 44" north latitude. According to the National Census 2078, the total population of the municipality is 1,15,437. Among them, 57,596 (49.89%) are male and 57,841 (50.11%) are female. The number of households in this municipality is 31301 and the population density (per square km) is 3,867. Geographically, Shivapuri National Park is also connected with this municipality. 

Ichangunarayan, Akash Bhairav, Raniban, Jamacho, White Gumba, Badri Narayan, Switzerland Park, Bhuwaneshwor Mandir etc. are the major tourist places in Nagarjun.
