The Nepal Premier League (NPL) is Nepal’s first & biggest professional T20 franchise cricket league. It is organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). It began in 2024 and quickly became the country’s biggest cricket event.
The NPL features eight franchise teams representing different provinces. It helps to making a national celebration of cricket. The league aims to develop Nepali cricket by giving players international-level exposure and fans their own homegrown professional league, similar to India’s IPL or Australia’s Big Bash.

The first season of the Nepal Premier League (2024), was a major breakthrough for Nepali cricket. The Janakpur Bolts lifted the inaugural trophy after defeating the Sudurpaschim Royals in a thrilling final match. The tournament drew thousands of spectators to the stadiums and millions of views online. Season 1 not only proved that Nepal could successfully host a professional cricket league but also set the stage for bigger and better editions in the coming years.

The excitement of cricket is returning to Nepal as the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2. Additionally, The NPL Season 2 will officially take place from November 17 to December 13, 2025. After the grand success of its first edition, fans are eagerly waiting for another season filled with top-class matches, talented players, and strong competition. The tittle sponsor of this league is Siddhartha Bank Limited. So, it is also called SBL NPL.

This format keeps every game meaningful, building excitement throughout the 27-day tournament.
