Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality (Sindhupalchowk) Ward Number 2 is Baruwa.
According to local elders and intellectuals, Baruwa has been corrupted from "Bhrawal" in the Hyolmo language. "Bhar" means hill and "Bal" means resident, which means a person who lives in a Hilly area. In the local Tamang language, this place is called "Bhargu". Which means, a village made up of nine hills. Experts call this place "Dhawal" in Sambot script. Which means "Dha" means hill and "Wal" means resident. Whatever all this means, there are many mountains in this place. To the east of this ward are wards number 3, 4, and 6 (Bhotang, Thangpalkot, and Thangpal Dhap) respectively, while to its west are ward number 1 (Banskhark) and Helambu Rural Municipality. Similarly, Ward No. 3 (Bhotang) and Helambu, Ward No. 1 (Banskhark) are located in the south.
The total area of this ward is 46.1sq km. According to the household survey of 2074/ 075, there were 4032, of which there were 2089 men and 1943 women, and there were more than 800 households. The population density here is around 8753. Most Tamang, Sherpa, and Hyolmo communities live in this ward. The main settlements here are Simpani, Gyangtol, Gangkhark, Yangri, Bolgaon, Sunchaur, Ripar, and Salme. Ama Yangri, Chothang Hangjen, Dukfa Cave, Shera Phat, and Dudhkund are famous tourist places here. The main castes here are Tamang, Sherpa, Hyolmo, Kshetri, Brahmin, Nepali, Sarki, and Gurung.
