Badel Powell Scout Peak is located on the border of the Rasuwa and Sindhupalchok districts of Nepal. To its east is Sindhupalchok and to its west is Rasuwa. To the north of it, there is a chin. The height of this mountain is 5857 meters (19216 FT). This mountain under the Langtang and Jugal glaciers has been opened for climbing. This mountain has touched Gosaikunda Rural Municipality of Rasuwa and Helambu Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok. This mountain was earlier known as Urkema Peak. This mountain is spread over 28.1528 latitude and 85.125 longitude in the world geography.
To celebrate the 2007 Scouting Centenary, the Nepalese government officially changed the name of Urkema Peak to Baden-Powell Scout Peak. This renaming was a tribute to British soldier Robert Baden-Powell, who founded the global Scouting movement, marking 100 years of Scouting. The first ascent of Mount Baden-Powell was made by an international group of scouts, including members from Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Nepal. The first person to reach the summit was Australian climber Mark Mangles at noon on September 12, 2007.
The nearest settlement to this mountain is Mundu. This mountain is climbed especially through the route of Rasuwa. From Kathmandu, you can reach the base camp of this mountain through Dhunche - Syafrubesi - Godatbela - Mundu. Now this mountain has been opened for climbing. Climbing can be done here with the permission of the concerned body.
