Kathmandu University is one of the best universities in Nepal. It is located in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchowk district, Bagmati province, Nepal. This university has been providing quality education in Nepal since its establishment. It operates different schools, and departments for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses. Its motto is "Quality Education for Leadership."
Kathmandu University (KU) is a self-supporting autonomous government organization. It was founded in December 1991 by an Act of Parliament to provide the best quality higher-level education. It is a higher education establishment committed to upholding the highest standards of academic performance across a range of traditional and professional fields. "To provide quality education for leadership" is the university's stated mission. "Becoming a world-class university dedicated to bringing knowledge and technology to the service of mankind" is the stated vision of Kathmandu University. By transferring knowledge and skills "from the campus to the community," the university hopes to benefit society and serve the country. KU directly contributes their effort to produce skilful, capable, & talented human resources in Nepal.
Essentially, the university's unique features are its independent management, financial stability, consistent upkeep of the academic calendar, ongoing confidence in the global academic community, ideal faculty-student interaction, and student-friendly atmosphere, among other things. In the same way, the University's graduates are well-known for qualities like strong exposure to business and society, research proficiency, technology literacy, moderate to high-level communicative competence, collaborative and leadership spirit, and international compatibility.
The University's highest body is the Senate. It is made up of officials from the university, prominent educators, secretaries of the government, donors, mayors of cities nearby, representatives from educational institutions and businesses, and teachers and students. The Senate is presided over by the Prime Minister, who also serves as the University's Chancellor. The Pro-Chancellor is the Minister of Education. To manage the university, the Academic and Executive Councils create internal policies and initiatives. The founding fathers and other well-known figures make up the University's Board of Trustees, which is charged with creating and overseeing resources as well as offering advice on long-term objectives.\
Kathmandu University has seven schools. There are various departments within the schools. The list of schools is as follows:
Through these schools, Kathmandu University operates more than 200 long and short-run academic programmes.
In the Panchkhal Municipality, KU has suggested creating two new schools. Under these, the Agriculture Programme and the Artificial Programme have been temporarily launched in Panchkhal, while KU-KUNJ will open very soon. - Agriculture School, -Forestry School
Besides the normal or general courses, Kathmandu University operates some special academic programmes in Nepal. KU runs academic programs most of which are credited for being introduced in the country.
