Dakshinkali Municipality is the newest established local body in Kathmandu. It has historical, religious, & cultural significance. This municipality was established in 2071BS. This municipality was formed by joining the former Chalnakhel, Setidevi, Sheshnarayan, Dakshinkali, Talku Dudechaur and Chhaima village development committees. The office of Dakshinkali municipality is about 18 Kilometres from the capital Kathmandu.
The eastern border of Dakshinkali municipality is connected with Lalitpur district. And, the western border is associated with Makawanpur district. Similarly, Kirtipur & Chandragiri are on the northern border of Dakshinkali. Additionally, the southern border is connected with the Makawanpur district.
Dakshinkali Mandir, Gopaleshwor temple, Shesh Narayan temple, Hyanglasi Gumba, Katuwal Daha etc. are the major religious & tourist places of Dakshinkali Municipality.
