Bhimsen Secondary School is a community-based educational institution in Chautara Sangachowk Gadhi -10, Khatrithok, Sindhupalchowk. This school was established in 2032 BS. This school has been providing quality & practical education to their students. Similarly, this is affiliated with the National Examination Board (NEB) and controlled & regulated by the local government & management committee. This school is operating the classes from ECD to grade 10. 

Shree Bhimsen Secondary School is a testament to the power of determination and community spirit. From humble beginnings to academic excellence, this institution has overcome every obstacle in its path to providing quality education to the youth of Khatrithok.

History 

In the era preceding 2032 BS (1975 AD), Sangachok-1, Khatrithok of Sindhupalchowk faced a daunting challenge - the absence of a nearby school for its children. The closest educational institution was situated in Jalkaini, a staggering 5 kilometres away from the village. Recognizing the pressing need for accessible education, the resilient community members took matters into their own hands, giving birth to Shree Bhimsen Secondary School. With determination in their hearts, they embarked on a journey to gather donations and financial resources from various quarters.

Initially, the school commenced its operations, offering classes only up to Grade 3. The dedication of the community knew no bounds, and after seven years, Shree Bhimsen Secondary School expanded its curriculum to include classes up to Grade 5. A significant milestone was achieved in 2058 BS (2001 AD) when the school was further upgraded to accommodate students up to Class 8. In the year 2065 BS (2008 AD), the school celebrated another triumph by introducing Grades 9 and 10. Notably, it wasn't until 2066 BS (2009 AD) that the students of the school participated in the SLC examinations for the first time, marking a historic achievement.

Nevertheless, this remarkable journey was not without its share of challenges and adversities. A few months following its inception, the school building succumbed to the forces of nature, collapsing in the process. Undeterred, the resilient community rallied together, and reconstruction efforts commenced. However, tragedy struck once more in 2045 when a devastating earthquake razed the building to the ground yet again. The undaunted spirit of the community spurred them to rebuild the school once more. Tragically, in 2002 AD, a landslide swept away the school building, forcing them to reassess their situation. Ultimately, in 2003 AD, the school made the bold decision to acquire new land in a different location and subsequently relocated. This strategic move marked a turning point, and the school has thrived in its current location ever since.

Today, Shree Bhimsen Secondary School boasts a dedicated team of 16 teachers, consisting of 7 permanent educators, 4 Relief Quota teachers, and 2 TFN fellows. The student body is comprised of 272 bright minds, with 152 girls and 120 boys enrolled. The primary mediums of instruction are Nepali and English, providing a well-rounded educational experience. The school has earned its reputation as one of the top-performing institutions in the entire district. In the years 2069 BS (2012 AD), 2070 BS (2013 AD), and 2071 BS (2014 AD), the SLC pass rates were an impressive 88.4%, 88.4%, and an astounding 95.6%, respectively.
