Bethanchok Rural Municipality

Bethanchok rural municipality is one of the local level in Kavre district. During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this rural municipality was established by adjusting the former Dhungkharka, Chalal Ganesh, Chyasingkharka, & Bhugdeu Mahakal,  village development committees. 

The total area of Bethanchok is 101 square kilometres. There are six ward office in this rural municipality.  The eastern border of Bethanchok is connected with Roshi Gaupalika. And, The western border is connected with Mahakal Gaupalika of Lalitpur. Similarly, the northern & southern borders are connected with Panauti/ Namobuddha & Khanikhola gaupalika respectively.  

The name of this village is named after Bethanchok Narayan Temple located at a height of about 3018 meters above the sea level located in Ward No. 1 of the former Dhunkhark Village.
