Panchkhal Municipality

Panchkhal is one of the local government situated in Kavre district of Bagmati province.  By the decision of the Ministerial level of the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development oon 25 Baisakh, 2071, this municipality was formed by incorporating the former five village development committee, Panchkhal, Hoxebazar, Devbhumi, Waluva, Anaikot and Sahitghar Bhagwati respectively.  

  During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this municipality was established by adjusting the former Panchkhal Municipality, Koshidekha, & Kharel Thok village development committees. 

There are total 13 ward offices in Panchkhal Municipality. The total area of Panchkhhal is 103 square kilometres. It is the second biggest municipality of Kavre district. To the east of Panchkhaal Municipality is Bhumlu Village Municipality, to the west is Dhulikhel and Banepa Municipality. Similarly, Mandandeupur municipality and Bhumlu village municipality are located in the north of this municipality and Temal village municipality, Namobuddha and Dhulikhel municipality are located in the south.

Panchkhal is the main bazar of this municipality. This place is famous for its productivity based on agro. The average temperature here is 32 degrees to 33 degrees. It's hot in this municipality from Chaitra to the beginning of Ashoj. This place experiences varying temperatures depending on the season because it is winter here from Ashoj to Falgun. The municipality is geographically diverse, hence the circumstances and altitude are vary. Summer and the rainy season are when monsoon rains fall. Because of the effect of monsoon winds, around 2000 millilitres of rain are found. As this municipality is located in the southeast monsoon-affected area, Asar to Bhadra have an abundance of water. There is greater rain in this area because low pressure air is moving across the district's two primary watersheds, the Bagmati and Roshi.
