Kavrepalanchok is in the middle hilly region of Nepal. This district does not have any mountain range. It spreads over the Chure range. The major water source in Kavre is the second-level river which originates from the Chure. Rivers originating in the Himalayan region of Nepal also flow through Kavre. Like Indrawati, Sunkoshi etc.
Kavre also has the hydropower potential. Panauti Hydropower is one of the oldest hydro projects in Nepal. This hydropower is located in Khopasi, Kavre.
