Bhimeshwor Municipality

Bhimeshwor Municipality is situated in the Dolakha district of Bagamati Province, Nepal. It is one of the famous municipalities in terms of history, religion, culture, & tourism. It was established in 2053 BS by adjusting Mati, Charikot, Dolakha, & Makaibari village development committees. During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this municipality was established by adjusting the former Bhimeshwor Municipality, Supuspakshamawati, Boch & Lakuridanda village development committees. 

The municipality has been named after the very ancient and sacred destination Dolakha Bhimeshwor Temple. There are nine ward offices in Bhimeshwor Municipality. The centre of the municipality is Charikot. Charikot is in the northeast direction from Kathmandu about 133 kilometres distance. 

Bhimeshwar municipality extends from 27 degrees 36 minutes north to 27 degrees 44 minutes north latitude and from 85 degrees 58 minutes east to 86 degrees 6 minutes east longitude. The east-west length of this municipality is up to 17 km and the north-south width is up to 10 km.

The eastern border is connected with Baideshwor Rural Municipality. Sindhupalchowk is in the west of Bhimeshwor. Similarly, The northern border is connected with Kalinchowk & Sindhupalchok. Sailung rural municipality is in the southern part of this municipality.
