Thakurbaba Municipality

Thakurbaba is one of the municipalities in Bardiya, Lumbini province, Nepal.  During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this municipality was established by adjusting the former Babai Municipality, Shivapur & Thakurdwara village development committees. 

 

According to the federal system, this municipality belongs to Bardia district election area no. 2. Geographically, Bardiya National Park lies in the east, west and north of this municipality, while Madhuvan Municipality lies in the south. This municipality has a total area of 104.52 square km and is located at an altitude of 144 meters to 214 meters above sea level. Geographically, it extends from 81°13'24.69" to 81°21'11.775" east longitude and 28°21'53.63" to 28°31'19.295" north latitude. Located 22 km northwest of the district headquarters, Gularia, this municipality is connected to the east-west highway and postal route.
