Madhuwan is one of the municipalities in Bardiya, Lumbini province, Nepal. During the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this municipality was established by adjusting the former Sanoshree, Taratal, Suryapatuwa & Dodari village development committees.
This municipality is located 6 km west-south from Gularia, the headquarters of Bardia district. Barbardia Municipality borders this municipality to the east. Similarly, Rajapur Municipality and India are to the west of Madhuwan. This municipality shares the north border with Bardia National Park and Thakurbaba Municipality. And, Gulariya Municipality and India are to the south of this municipality. The area of this municipality is 129.73 square km. This municipality is located from 26°21' to 29°7' North latitude and 80°21' to 81°10' East longitude. This municipality is inn the height of 175 meters above sea level.
